The Cessna 182 Skyline from spinner to tail embody a marriage of authentic, time-honored aviation design and the continuous refinements based on years of customer feedback. It starts with a timeless high-wing design that offers so many practical benefits, including greater stability, superb visibility, sun blocking and inclement weather protection. This high-wing design also results in a simplified preflight inspection and easy access to pilot, passenger and cargo doors. The look of the Cessna Skylane 182 is unmistakable and easy to enjoy with this Gold Edition ARF. The attention to authentic touches is obvious at every turn, from the built-in lighting system to the twin radio antenna on the wing. But what's even more remarkable is the ease of reproducing those details and the gentle handling that makes this ARF a great choice for virtually any pilot. Factory-built wood sections and a factory applied, Cessna-style trim scheme reduce assembly time to just 18-25 hours. Painted fiberglass details include traditional time savers like the cowl and wheel pants, as well as added extras that include updated, one-piece wing and landing gear struts, Horner wing tips and molded-in corrugations for control surfaces. The lighting system includes a Mars beacon as well as landing and navigation lights. The full cockpit interior includes seats and sides, plus a redesigned 3D instrument panel. Details include raised dials and control yokes, as well as color graphics. When it comes to power for your Cessna Skylane, you can go with glow or choose brushless electric power instead. Parts and instructions for both are included in the box. The choices are yours; and performance is great with either one. A magnetically sealed battery hatch on the bottom of the fuselage simplifies pack changes without affecting scale looks.
Introduced in 1956, the 182 has been produced in a number of variants, including a version with retractable landing gear, and is the second most popular Cessna model, after the 172. Cessna lists 22,336 Skylanes delivered thru 2007 plus 901 Turbo Skylanes delivered thru 2007.
