As one of the most recognizable airplanes ever built, the J-3 Cub has long been loved by pilots and non-pilots alike, Thousands of which are still in use today. Piper originally sold 19,073 J-3s between 1938 and 1947, the majority of them L-4s and other military variants. After WWII, thousands of Grasshoppers were registered by civilian pilots under the designation "J-3". Hundreds of Cubs were assembled from parts in Canada by Cub Aircraft as the Cub "Prospector". Also, these planes were made in Denmark, Argentina and by a licensee in Oklahoma. E-Flite's new 25 Size Piper J-3 Cub ARF captures the classic scale lines and smooth flight performance of its grandfather, a full-scale Cub owned by Pat Hartness, whose Triple Tree Aerodrome hosts the annual Joe Nall and Don Lowe Masters RC model events. This is the only 25 Size Cub with scale ailerons. Quality balsa and light plywood construction make for a sturdy, lightweight airframe that handles incredibly well in most flying situations. The firewall is set up for use with an outrunner motor, such as E-Elite Power 25, making a perfect power match for the airframe. Optional floats add a new dimension to the scale flying experience, and the one-piece wing allows for easy transportation to and from virtually any flying field, pond or lake. All these scale features and more create a realistic looking airplane that is ready for Sunday morning cruising. The whole model is constructed from top-quality balsa and lite-ply materials and is pre-finished in a vibrant Cub Yellow scheme, this scale Cub will provide aviation buffs with hours of sport-flying fun. There is nothing like having a plane you know will perform well.
