The AT-6 Texan was a single-engine advanced trainer aircraft designed by North American Aviation, used to train fighter pilots of the United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II. The AT-6 is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. Legendary Gold Edition quality combines time saving ARF construction, resulting in a great-looking and scale-flying warbird model. Gold Edition quality distinguishes this model from all other ARFs. In addition to the factory-built and covered wood main sections, Top Flite includes realistic wheel covers, replica radial engine, greenhouse canopy and many other scale parts. Precise interlocking design with plenty of preassembly ensures a short box-to-flight time of only 18-25 hours. The painted fiberglass cowl is topped off with an aluminum spinner and realistic replica radial engine. Easy-to-install fiberglass air intakes and exhaust stacks provide a head-turning touch of authentic WWII Texan detail. Flaps are already built into the wings. All you have to do is install your servos. Under the vacuum-formed canopy is a detailed cockpit including decals for the instrument panel, pilots and a rollover bar. Included mechanical retracts made of high-quality composite material add realism to runway takeoffs and landings. Use the AT-6 Texan's flaps to increase altitude faster at takeoff or to reduce speed and decrease the distance needed for landing. An adjustable mount is included for accommodating either a 2-stroke .60-.91 or 4-stroke .91-1.20 engine.

The North American AT-6 Texan trainer is one of the most important aircraft of all time and is universally recognized. First built as the NA-16 in 1935, the Texan was in continual production for nearly 10 years and in active use for more than five decades. Primarily used as a trainer, the Texan remains a favorite among Warbird collectors around the world.
