Hitec's new Power Miser brushless servos are 6.0V to 8.4V high-voltage items with Neu/Castle brushless motors and a newly designed digital circuitry that is customisable via Hitec's own PC software. The servo's feature Titanium gears and with metal-plastic-duralinium 1st gears. The hybrid gear promises maximum durability and creates a certain "anti-glitch" effect as it prevents the electrical contact between the servos and the aircraft's or helicopter's hardware. Available will be the HSB-9360TH (0.07s/16.5kg), the HSB-9370TH (0.10s/23.0kg) and the HSB-9380TH (0.14s/35.0kg - all @ 7.4V).

» Spektrum Air/Heli/Sailplane DX10t DSM2/DSMX Radio ($1100.00 Due Mid June 2011)

The Spektrum DX10t is an extremely light-weight, universal-application, high-end tray radio. The DX10t is a modular design, so customizing its switch layout for the proper application means no matter what kind of modeler there is, the 10t has everyone covered. It features the next evolution of Spektrum's AirWare software, which has been thoroughly refined and expanded, offering modelers a level of functionally and customization never before available. The DX10t supports up to 10 flight modes in Sailplane mode and 5 flight modes in ACRO and Heli, allowing for an unprecedented amount of user personalization, ideal for competition modelers. The switch modules are interchangeable, and assignable, allowing for customized switch positions depending on user application. The radio will allow for real time telemetry feedback, an SD card reader built in, meaning model transfer and the ability to upgrade the radios software over time. » LF-Technik GyroBOT Jet and Wing
LF-Technik shows three new GyroBot flight stabilising devices in the form of the GyroBot 900 Heli Jet, 900 Wing and 900 Wing Jet. All three devices sport special features for their dedicated field of use with the Jet items are bigger in size for even more accuracy and coming with special shielding and decoupling against interference produces by jet engine. The 900 Heli Jet also has a special software making the gyro ideal to use with larger and slower tail rotors found on turbine-powered helis.

The HKIII-4035 series of brushless outrunner motors is new at the stand of Scorpion Motor. They feature a new pattern rotor which allows for optimised airflow, cooler running temperatures and more efficiency. With the HKIII-4035-330KV motor in Logo 600SE Scorpion even managed to get more than 30 minutes of flight time out of a 12S 5000mAh LiPo battery pack.

» Hacker C50 Sensored F3A Competition Power System
Hacker showed the new Senstrol 120 brushless airplane motor and controller combo. Coming with what they call Constant Power Management the controller simply holds the RPM adjusted by the transmitter stick irregardless the flight situation the plane. For example the plane is flight into a loop then the controller holds the RPM by putting more power on the motor and also holds the RPM when going downwards again by given less power on the motor. F3A pilots who need this constant speed flight situation will welcome this. Also, when turning the motor off the prop is positionable in any position you want and it stays there until you start the motor again. Hacker achieved this by having a 4096 step encoding system for the motor and fully automatic real-time variable frequency and phase sequencing calculation. The system is fully RPM controlled giving proportional RPM output with stick movement. The system is made around Hacker's C50 line of brushless motors with KV rating variants available when the Senstrol system is finally available.

There will be 6 different diameters of motors available, with several lengths in each diameter. Here is a complete listing of all the sizes that Scorpion plans on producing. The first two digits of the part number is the stator diameter and the second two digits are the length of the stator, both in millimeters. The actual length of the motor will be longer than the stator, since there will be end caps and bearings on each end of the stator.

All of the 20mm, 29mm, 36mm and 40mm motors will be made in a 12N4P configuration, and all of the 45mm and 50mm motors will be made in a 24N8P configuration.

» EDF Schubeler DS-94-DIA HST w/DSM 6740-600 motor

With the DS-94-DIA HST Schuebeler Composite launches a comletely new jet propulsion system. The system is based on a new 12-blade axial compressor wheel which is driven by the all new Schuebeler electronic commutated motor.

The 128mm axial compressor generates a surpassing compression ratio and can can be integrated much more efficiently in huge jet models than classic ducted fans. The rotational speed level is only 26.500 rpm at an impressive exhaust speed of 95m/s and a thrust of 10kg. This high thrust impulse is therefore generated by a high exhaust speed and a high inner efficiency of the axial fan stage. In figures that means you can integrate this fan in jets up to11 kg and an exhaust diameter of just 105mm. The design of the 12-blade axial compressor wheel is based on speed ratios which are similar to the ratios of a full scale turbofan. That results besides a high efficiency in a perfect optical scale appearence and a sound which can only be compared to full scale jet engines. A silent whispering and fizzling of the axial compressor at idle rpm is predominated by an impressive jetstream noise coming from the exhaust at full throttle.

An extraordinary challenge was the development of an electronic commuted DC motor that perfectly fits to the axial fan. The 12-blade compressor demands an impressive torque of 2,2 Nm at 26.500 rpm which can only be generated by a high torque motor of high diameter and shorter length. Consequently the new DSM 6740 Schuebeler motor has a diameter of 67 mm and a magnet length of 40 mm. This motor is fully integrated in the axialfan to assign a huge area for the main airflow. In addition to that the motor is perfectly.

Cooled and needs no efficiency decreasing internal ventilator. The motor is based on a two pole design to allow a flexible fit of the motor characteristics to the needs of the axial fan. Nevertheless the windings sit in a 12 slot stator to increase the torque and to avoid any winding deformation at high temperatures. The magnet is attached to a sheeted magnet holder and reinforced by a bandage made of IMS carbon fibre which allows a high rpm tolerance. The whole motor design was optimized in respect of excessive heat tolerance and of course a high efficiency even at high currents. The mechanical design of the Schuebeler DSM 6740 motor is based on established mechanical engineering and distinguishes itself by a shaft mount consisting of a fixed bearing and a prestressed floating bearing. Front- and endbell are fixed by 8 countersunk head screws, all surfaces are protected by hard anodizing. The result is a very high durability in combination with a low mechanical soundscape which allows the whispering of the axial fan to predominate even at idle rpm.

The conjunction between motor and axial fan is made by 4 handmade carbon stators which also guide the 3 motor phases through the UHM carbon sandwich shroud. The conversion of torque to power is accomplished by 12 handmade carbon rotor blades which sit form-closed in precision aluminum swivels.
