The innovative Futaba S.Bus system lets you unleash your flight system's full potential and cut down on
cable clutter at the same time. Emcotec DPSI 2018 uses digital serial data communication technology to
transmit control signals between your receiver and standard or S.Bus/Sbus2 servos. A single S.Bus cable
can carry signals to as many channels as your transmitter can handle. You no longer have to worry about
plugging in the wrong servo to the wrong channel, because each servo knows what channel it is dedicated
to in advance. The Emcotec 2018 power distribution system can manage up to four different power servo
lines as well as additional 10 standard PWM channel and fully supports Jeti Duplex communication protocol
up to two receivers set to serial EX Bus output as well as two power batteries can be connected at the
same time to the DPSI 2018 unit for complete Power & Signal redundancy.
The Emcotec DPSI 2018 power and signal distribution system provides servo management for two S.Bus
(A1 + A2, B1 + B2) and one PWM (Channel 1-8/9-16 and 17, 18) output channel lines using independent,
voltage selectable regulators. Each one of the output channel lines can be independently set for 5.4, 6,
6.6 or 7.4V. Dual receivers are connected to the PWM (C) line sharing same voltage as PWM channels
1-8/9-16 (Programmable) and channels 17 and 18 for complete signal redundancy.
Servo S.Bus and PWM (Standard) Servo Programming
Using Futaba SBC-1 Channel setting tool or CIU-2 USB Programmer with PCLink software allows programmable S.Bus/S.Bus2 servos to be connected to the any of the four (4) serial bus power lines using S.Bus to S.Bus or S.Bus to PWM clamp on terminals or extensions with terminals. Technically systems allows any number (8 Recommended) of standard or programmable S.Bus/S.Bus2 servos to be connected to each one of the power lines, each line is only limited by the available power (10A/60A). By providing today's pilots with tomorrow's technology, the Futaba S.Bus system with Emcotec 2018 power distribution is nothing short of revolutionary.

DPSI 2018 Programming
Programming of the DPSI 2018 is done using optional LCD programming and control panel. LCD panel displays
important information: Receiver Signal Quality, Supply Voltage, Battery Capacity, Max/Instant Current,
Remaining Battery Capacity, Temperature and also serves as main On/Off switch. Integrated LED lights
indicate status of the systems and provide instant detection warning. The LCD panel also provides
programming interface of the system, you can set: Battery Type & Capacity, Output Voltage for Line A/B/C,
and Data Signal Input (Jeti, S.Bus).
DPSI 2018 Data Recording
Emcotec DPSI 2018 power system comes equipped with SD memory card slot. SD card is used for firmware
updates as well as data recording. Data can be easily transferred using included SD memory card and later
displayed on the PC for flight evaluation. While at the flying field telemetry data can be also displayed
using optional (Recommended) LCD programming and control panel.
IVM (Intelligent Voltage Monitoring)
An internal microcontroller monitors all voltages by using an intelligent algorithm and signals various errors (overload, low voltage, voltage faults) acoustically using a built-in piezo buzzer. In addition, all errors are also displayed using an LEDs on the LCD programming monitor.
Power Supply
Two power batteries for power redundancy should be connected to the DPSI 2018 using silicone power leads
with Multiplex connectors. During use, the power is actually supplied from the battery with the higher
voltage. If the voltage is the same, the power is used equally from both batteries and allows them to
share the current load. When the voltage of the batteries is different, the power is not shared and each
pack is isolated from the other.
The Emcotec DPSI 2018 power distribution unit is designed to operate with the included Jeti Wireless RC
Switch Interface or a specially designed Magnetic Switch or Magnetic Switch Fuel Cap actuators. The
switches are fail proof and they are controlled by self-locking circuitry. This means that DPSI 2018
stays turned On, even if the switch fails. The logic for turning Off is also redundant, a simple
malfunction cannot cause the power supply to be turned Off.
