Wingspan: 189" (4800mm) Length: 78.75" (2000mm) Weight: 17-19 lbs. (7720-8625g) Channels: 6,7 The Goppingen Go 3 Minimoa is a single-seat sailplane produced in Germany. It was designed by Martin Schempp and Wolf Hirth. This airplane established several records, including the world altitude record of 6,687m (21,939 ft) in 1938 in a thunderstorm. Richard du Pont and Chet Decker flew Minimoas to win the US Championships in 1937 and 1938. It was made out of wood and fabric with cantilevered "gull" wings. The B-version in 1938 had thinner wings with a modified section and the gull's kink in a different place. The undercarriage was non-retractable. It was the first glider built to carry water-ballast in a tank behind the pilot. The Let Model's scale version of this beautiful sailplane comes with the fiberglass fuselage and flawless finish in white or beige gel-coat. The canopy is removable with fiberglass frame and comes complete with a scale-like latch. The cockpit is completed with instrument dashboards and fiberglass seats, just like the actual plane. Fix launch wheel as well as tow release are also installed. The wing and fuselage both have pre-installed wiring harnesses that also include multi-pin connectors for fast, trouble-free setup at the field. The wing is beautifully finished in scale like Solartex and ready for your aileron, and spoiler servos. The foam core, obecchi sheeted, composite reinforced wings are easily removed for transportation yet are securely held in place with Let Model's ingenious retention system. All these features give this model performance characteristic similar to a full scale airplane while still remaining very light and beautifully built. The synergy of low weight and strong structure is very unusual even in a custom production sailplanes and can only be achieved with careful attention to design and construction. This model is considered one of the best values on the market today. This modern, 1/3.5 scale model of full size Go 3 Minimoa with its fiberglass fuselage and its composite reinforced, obecchi sheeted foam core scale wings flies as well as full size sailplane originally built in 1935. To this day only four Minimoas remain airworthy, two in Germany, one in Japan and the last one in the U.K. Special Features:- Control surfaces: Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder and Spoilers - White or Beige gel-coated, pre-painted fiberglass fuselage - Pre-installed landing gear and tow hook included - Foam-core, obecchi-sheeted two-piece wing with fiberglass reinforcement - Removable obecchi-sheeted stabilizer/rudder for easy storage and transportation - Solartex-covered wings with pre-installed servo wiring - Scale cockpit with canopy latch and dashboard - Optional SLS electric UP & GO unit - Decals applied, ready for final assembly More information (links):* Motor and Servo Installation Airfoil Wing area Wing loading Empty weight
